An iconic car that conveys a free spirited individuality alongside a very cool look. The beetle is an adventurer...a risk taker...that refuses to be confined by the form and ritual that makes life so humdrum. Every now and then I just have to paint one, and engage that free spirited part of me in the process.

This piece really speaks vintage...speaks of a timelessness that is really quite serene. And that always engages with design on the inside of us...the search for that elixir that will truly satisfy.
Orange Beetle
The scene has the feel of being somewhere on or near the coast with rain just beginning to fall. The beetle draws out the adventurer at heart, a free spirit, that needs something unpredictable and risky about its surroundings for possibilities to really open up and turn the page in life.
Taxi with Yellow
Taxi...yellow...Havana...the relic of Spanish imperialism fused with Latino culture and vintage American cars. Is it nostalgia...no...but the convergence of a society living in the present but surrounded by the history of another era. And that is a captivating quality...the bridge between history and modernity where seeming perpetuity informs the visible tangible world...and that encapsulates my work.
